The most delicious salad I have ever had the ingredients were all fresh and the flavors were bold because it was local ! Also the worker was extremely friendly.
My husband and I travel to DC frequently and Harrisonburg is midway between where we live to DC. EVERYTIME we make it a point to stop at this cafe. They have hands down the best coffee in there! Not sure wssup but I think it’s the quality of the milk possibly? I just know this is our designated stop which is prolly evident from the amount of photos anf it’s honestly the same stuff we order everytime- hazelnut latte vs lavender latte and the quinoa bowls all of which are delicious. Chicken caesar wrap I got here today was amazing! Chopped up and nicely dressed. Perfectly filling for lunch. Man behind the counter was so friendly and definitely made me want to return and continue giving my business.
Absolutely amazing experience from start to finish. The hospitality here was top-tier. We were served by the owner, David Engel, who was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and clearly passionate about both the food and the people he serves. That personal touch made the experience even better. The food was incredible. I paired the Tomato & Gouda Bisque with a grilled cheese, and it was hands down the best soup and grilled cheese combo I’ve ever had. Perfectly rich, comforting, and full of flavor. I also had the Chipotle Pollo wrap, and it was easily the best wrap I’ve ever eaten. Fresh ingredients, great balance, and clearly made with care. To top it all off, they had big cookies baked fresh that gave the perfect delight to end the meal. You can tell real pride is taken in both the food and the customer experience. Great portions, great prices, and an atmosphere that makes you want to come back. I’ll definitely be returning and recommending this place to everyone I know.
I've always loved the place food portions are always spot on. The person behind the counter was very friendly and professional. The restaurant has made great improvements to the layout since I was last there. Will definitely return. Not to mention they offer a lot of gluten free options which is truly a delight to those with celiac disease.
The staff/owners are very nice to me and make the best latte in town! I have stopped going to Starbucks to get their coffee and they have large or small portions for their salads, soups, and more, which is nice. The cafe feels safe and comforting. Also, I love that the staff never seem in a hurry and take your time wih each customer.

Fast becoming my go to place when I’m traveling between Staunton and Strasburg. Plenty of variety and lots of flavor. So far, great staff. Reasonable prices, added value when you take part in their rewards program.
Probably the best soup and salad combo I’ve ever had! Absolutely loved the crab bisque and the strawberry salad. Amazing! Staff were so helpful and gave us great recommendations. Will stop back in next time at JMU!
